ISLAMABAD: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Asia-Pacific team will reach Pakistan tonight (Sunday) in Islamabad where final negotiations between government of Pakistan and FATF would begin tomorrow (Monday).
According to the details the FATF team will meet the officials of ministry of finance and interior, the financial monitoring unit and state bank during its visit between October 7-19.
The FATF delegation will also meet the officials of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) and law enforcement agencies.
In the meeting the FATF will discussed the measures taken by the SECP, NAB and ANF.
During its visit the FATF will review the administrative and legal action taken by the government, to stop the financial assistance to terrorists.
The FATF delegation will also be recommended to exclude the name of Pakistan form the grey list.
Meanwhile the SECP has also completed its homework to stop the financial assistance to terrorist and money laundering and the report will be presented in the meeting with FATF.
Earlier on June 28, the FATF, after a plenary meeting in Paris, officially place Pakistan on its grey list.
Despite the efforts of Pakistan’s diplomat to avert the decision, the FATF argued that Pakistan had failed to cope with financial assistant to terrorist on its soil.
