ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has provided one week to Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to present a report in Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.
During a case hearing on Monday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar demanded report from ISI and MI pertaining Naqeebullah’s murder.
The intelligence agencies, however, failed to present a report and requested a week’s time from the SC to present a detailed report on the case. The apex court accepted ISI and MI representatives’ plea and directed them to present a report on March 12.
27-year-old Naqeebullah Mehsud, hailing from South Waziristan and residing in Karachi since 2008, was allegedly apprehended by police in Karachi on January 2, 2018, and was killed on January 17 in a controversial encounter by a police team headed by SSP Rao Anwar in the Usman Khaskheli Goth on the outskirts of Karachi.
