LAHORE: Heavy rain on Tuesday night lashed out in various areas of Lahore that plunged the city into darkness due to prolonged power outage.
The heavy rain left one minor dead and 14 others wounded in rain-related accidents.
Residents of the city were inconvenienced with the prolonged power outage as 150 feeders of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped.
Although company officials confirmed that the feeders had only tripped owing to the sudden heavy downpour, with no other damages.
Tuesday night also brought light showers in Sindh, leaving behind pleasant weather except Sukkur, Jacobabad and Ratodero that experienced heavy rains similar to Lahore.
According to Pakistan’s meteorological department (PMD) Karachi is expected to experience rain on Wednesday which will be the first rain of the monsoon season.
Along with Karachi, Larkana, Nawabshah, Zhob, Kalat and Dera Ismail Khan will also be experiencing drizzle.
