ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz has been deposed from the bench which is to hear the case regarding Chairman Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf Imran Khan’s disqualification from public office.
The divisional bench is to hear the case against Imran Khan under the charge that he does not fulfill the requirements laid down by Article 63. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has replaced Justice Shaukat Aziz in the divisional bench. Prior to his dismissal, Justice Shaukat Aziz alongside Justice Amir Farooq had ordered Imran Khan to submit a response by 1st August, 2018.
The petitioners hailed from Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s Justice and Democratic Party and their case is that since Imran Khan did not reveal the identity of his daughter Tyrian White, he is neither ‘Sadiq’ nor ‘Ameen’ and should be declared unfit to run for public office.
